It's me in Victoria Beckham mode, Lizzie - don't worry - I'll be fine after a couple of snifters!

I think Hyacinth would be a wonderful hostess for Eleanor's retirement "do". I do fear, howeve, that she will decide we are much too common for one of her little soirees.

I shall be wearing a full length ballgown, tiara, long white gloves and of course, wellies.

Jean, I think you will look splendid!
All ballgowns look best with wellies ~ my friend got married in a beautiful white wedding gown with veil & finished off with doc martens & no other wedding outfit has ever come close - she looked stunning!!!

Now if Hyacinth Bucket, sorry Bouquet, is going to host Eleanor's retirement party are we going to have her son Sheridan along as a waiter?

The ladies look like something out of Abigail's party - I wasn't around back then and would need some help with getting an outfit together. I was thinking something BiBaish, or am I on a too sedate track here? Or I could go to Ann S..... LOL LOL LOL or am I being too uncouth?

HEY, I hope you all will be wearing my home made life jackets over the ballgowns and pearls??????

And what about these cabbage leaves here?

Bouquet or Jordan?

Bouquet.

I was thinking, if this tea party succeeds we could attend the royal garden party in the summer? (The RAF cadets are attending, we can always dress up as them?)

Good plan Amanda,

To hang with it, Hyacinth may get us an invite into the grounds for my retirement do! As long as Doreen isn't bringing her snake we should be made welcome. Remenber, I retire on the 24th February so when are we meeting for the cultivated celebration of the end of my working life? Yikes!!

Eleanor x

ps: it is impossible that anyone could be so devoid of humour as to object to this thread. Lets carry on as per usual and let it all go until we hear what the inappropriate thread is. perhaps we should leave out S...........and J........... though! Never know.

I suggest (in the light of recent events) that we ALL have a night out this weekend to practise for your leaving do...

The cucumber sandwiches can be left out until the real date but we could all try on our outfits and choreograph a new dance?

Jean can bring her pole. Mary can bring hers as well and we can have a pole dancing competition. Hang it, you only retire once!

Do like cucumber sandwiches Amanda. Perhaps we could sample one or two?

Could it be Saturday night? I am having my latest granchild on Friday, at some time in the evening I suspect, so will be busy worrying. All hands on deck!
